Oak Bend Review is an Online/Print Journal for the purpose of promoting the Arts. Our goal is to print an issue quarterly. Our website features the current issue as well as archives where you will find previous issues and links where you can order them.
Please read the online issue before submitting so you will know what we like.
How To Submit: Submit via e-mail. In the body of the e-mail provide contact information, brief (50 words or less) bio, and list names of pieces you are sending. All poems should be sent in plain text in the body of the e-mail. All fiction and non-fiction pieces should be sent as an attachment. Everything should be left aligned, in Arial 12, and nothing should be underlined. In the bio, there should be no italics and nothing in quotation marks. We will use italics and quotation marks where needed. If there are questions about that, we will contact you. To designate italics in poems or text, use asterisks. For Poetry: Submit 3-5 poems to attention of poetry editor @ sandeelyles@yahoo.com For Fiction and Non-Fiction: Submit 1200 words or less to the attention of the fiction or non-fiction editor @ sandeelyles@yahoo.com Submitting work to Oak Bend Review grants us permission to publish upon acceptance and gives us first publishing rights for an upcoming issue and possibly for other issues such as BEST OF OBR ANTHOLOGY - both print and electronic. DO NOT SEND PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED WORK (unless requested). Now send us your wonderful work! We can’t wait!

We don't mind simultaneous submissions as long as you let us know immediately if/when the work is accepted elsewhere. Please do not send multiple submissions. Once you hear from us, wait at least 2 months before submitting again. We're excited to hear from you.

Regarding Contributor Copies:
Oak Bend Review issues are all online FOR FREE. We do not sell e-copies. Our readers do not have to pay a thing. Therefore, we cannot afford to offer free contributor copies. We do make print copies available for anyone who would like to purchase a keepsake of Oak Bend Review and they are beautiful. Maybe at some point we will be able to offer these free to contributors but at this time it is just not possible as we spend much more than we make. We are staffed with volunteers who all work regular jobs in addition to the many hours spent working on these issues. We do this because we love this. Rest assure that OBR is a quality journal that is getting read. If you are a contributor, we will promote you and your endeavors and you will be part of a respected journal that is getting great feedback.
